Garden Kits Available

Want to grow nutrient-dense food? Now more than ever people are harnessing a collective energy to grow food locally, with care and intention, and in a way that harmonizes with nature. The BFA is excited to support growers by selling a suite of biological amendments that are pre-packed for the home garden scale and aren’t available in any retail stores.

Designed specifically for the home gardener, this all-in-one kit provides the essentials for biological growing: a broad spectrum soil mineral amendment, complete liquid feed for foliar sprays, and bacterial and fungal seed inoculant.

The kit is available to BFA members only (US only for now). Click the button below to become a member today, or if you’re already a member, order now on our website.

And spread the word! Together, we can transform our food supply and collective health one garden at a time.

Beef Study

BFA's Bionutrient Institute is leading a study to define Nutrient Density in beef. This work will also connect those nutrient variations in beef to management, genetics, soil, forage & microbiome. We're very excited about this next step in our research.

Our first round of submissions is being analyzed right now! We have received 5 farm samples and 13 citizen science samples for initial analyses. We expect to start sharing this data with you this summer as the different analyses get completed. We can't wait! As a reminder, our farm samples include forage, soil, manure and steak and our citizen science samples are steak only, collected from farmers markets or grocery stores. We collect detailed data from our partners so we will be able to draw conclusions about the nutrient density of the meat and the health of the soil and forage or farming practices.

Crop + Soil Testing

Since 2018, the Bionutrient Institute has been conducting surveys of farms, markets and stores across the United States, generating a public database of food quality. If you're curious to know more about what nutrient density really means, we are excited to share our years of research with you, and help you determine how the food you are eating or growing compares. The process is simple: you can collect food or crops + soil, answer some questions about where it came from, and send it into our lab. We return a suite of results in an easy-to-use database that allows you to benchmark your results against others.
